May Day Make and Take

This week's FREE card has stamps from 3 different companies, but the "featured" stamp is the NEW lace paper stamp from Kodomo. I love the soothing colors and the idea of a relaxing cup of tea with friends. What better way to get ready for the weekend?

Take the Wall of Fame Challenge!

Help us fill up the Wall of Fame next to the register! Each month, we challenge you with a different theme. Simply bring in (or mail in) a card with your name and phone number on the back, and you will be entered into the random drawing. At the end of each month, we select a card and the winner gets a great goodie bag! (Please note that the cards become the property of the shop). For May, the theme is flowers. You can stamp flowers, press flowers, use floral paper...the options are endless. For my entry (you mean I can't win????), I created a baby card using alphabet stamps from My Sentiments Exactly and felt flowers, ribbon and pastel mini safety pins from Creative Impressions. Let's see what you do....the challenge is on!

May 3 is Kentucky Derby Day

Join us for the 134th running of the Kentucky Derby this Saturday, May 3. Help us "recreate" the experience by wearing your favorite hat and enjoying a refreshing glass of mint iced tea! (Happy Helpers Marilynn and Dee plus friend of the shop Lainey are sharing their "hat-titude".)

Make a purchase for an opportunity to pull a horse from our hat. If your horse wins, you'll get 20% off your next visit. If your horse places (gets second), you'll get 15% off your next visit. And, if your horse shows (gets third), you'll get 10% off your next visit. Discounts are not available on class registrations, special orders or previously discounted merchandise. See you there!

Thursday Make & Take - April 24

This is a quick post to let you know what we've got planned for this week's make and take. You know, I've heard there's nothing like Paris in the springtime, I guess this is the closest I'm going to get to this year!

Hope to see you on Thursday!

And if you haven't been to the store in the last week or two - boy do we have some fun new things waiting for you. Laura's paved a path of shopping baskets out of that pile of boxes by the register. If you dig deep, you'll find new Momento dye drops and fun stamps from inkadinkadoo, Just for Fun and Savvy just to name a few of the things she's unpacked.

Artists Coordinate

We have an unspoken rule here at Angela's. When you come to the store and take a class with a super crafter, like say Michael Jacobs, your crafts must match your clothing or the commemorative pictures just don't come out right. As you can see, starting with Donna Kauffman (another super-crafter with whom you can take classes) on Michael's left and working our way down to the amazing Angela , each artist has created a coordinating project. That's why this picture looks so great.
Meanwhile, I'm totally joking. It's completely random that they dressed to match their books for this picture. Wait, I'm getting word that they dressed then made their books. I'm confused now. 2 posts in one night is apparently too much for me to handle.

Let's give a huge thank you to Michael Jacobs who taught some amazing classes. Don't miss out on his classes next time - if we're lucky enough to get him back. And remember artists, dress accordingly!

Thursday Make & Take - April 17

Calling all princessessess...

It's make and take time.

This week we're pulling out all the stops. We have pink, we have ribbon, we have scalloped edges and a tiara to boot. No, we don't have boots. We're going strictly girly.

Oh, and I saw the boxes that Laura started unpacking tonight. The cutest Inkadinkadoo stamps came in. Tiny budgies, little puppy paws and pretty spring flowers. We also got they're spring buy 2 get the 3rd free collection. We have fun new stuff from Inky Antics, Clear Art Stamps. You should click here for a super-fun sample made with their Coffee & Tea large set.

Laura...eat your Wheaties!

The trade show two weeks ago wasn't all about taking classes, eating great desserts and blogging. No! We actually shopped, and we have the boxes to prove it! A few things have come in before now, but today, we had deliveries from the US Mail, Fed Ex, DSL and the poor UPS man had to make 3 trips! 15 boxes in all! We'll be working feverishly all weekend to get these boxes opened and new goodies out on the sales floor. Of course, you could help us out by either buying things currently on the shelves, or buying new things right out of the baskets so we don't have to try to find a place for them to live! You are all very helpful in that way and we appreciate you!

No Stamps Required

We've traded in our rubber for brass this week. Our Thursday Make & Take is pretty much stamp-free. And that's not all! Angela's teaching a stenciling class on Tuesday. So if you've been wanting to add embossiness to bag of tricks, now's the time!

Angela will show you how easy it is to frame your cards. Sign up online or call the store at (703) 435-0051 to register. Click here for more details...

Thursday Make & Take - April 3

Great! Now that Angela & Co. are done galavanting around the crafting world, we can get back to business. And by business I mean FUN!

We've got a pretty card with all the latest and greatest stamping trends lined up for this week. It's got tabs and birds and flourishes and punching. I mean punches. And one of the sweet new images from Memory Box.

This is a great kick-start for those of you who are about to enter Shower season because it's almost upon us and - like the rest of this year that's passed by too quickly - there's nothing we can do to slow it down.

See you Thursday!
