Open House Demo

Come early to our 5th Anniversary Open House on Saturday, August 2! We open at 10 AM with a wonderful door prize for every person who stops by (while supplies last - one per household). In addition, Sandy Boyd, a rep from Dreamweaver, will be demonstrating several techniques for working with brass stencils including the technique pictured where she used embossing paste and Perfect Pearls. Aren't these cards stunning? She'll be here from 10 until noon - no need to register for her demo - just stop in!

We've Gone to the Dogs!

I'm back from a few days off - trying to rest up for all the big events coming up! I hope to see most of you this Saturday at our 5th anniversary Open House! We are prepared to party!

However, I don't want to just skip over the adorable card Marilynn made for tomorrow's (July 31) FREE make and take. She used the Great Impressions Stamp of the Month to create a fantastic "all occasion" card for that Pet Lover in your life. Plus, Great Impressions sent a wonderful sample board with several other ideas for using this versatile stamp. Come check it out!

More Make and Takes

As mentioned in the previous post, this Thursday, July 24, is no ordinary "Free For All". Kerry Urbatch will be here (ALL DAY) with several make and takes, door prize drawings, snacks (I heard her say something about Rocket Fuel - YIKES!) and general merriment. In addition to the "fabulous" card below, which will be our make and take running all day long, Kerry is bringing some additional projects to enjoy. From 12 - 2, you can also make this "To the Moon" lunch/goodie bag. From 3 - 5, you can make the "Life's a Circus" luggage tag, and from 6 - 8, you can make the "Greetings Earthling" postcard (not pictured). Take a break from the heat and come to an event that is Out of This World!

Odd Bird Planet New Release Party

Next Thursday, July 24, we are doing something very special for the FREE Make and Take! Stop in any time between 10 - 9 and create this amazing card featuring new stamps from Just Johanna. Since the beginning of the year, we've been enjoying the whimsical images of this stamp company. However, Johanna has brought in several new talented designers (including a "local" - Kerry Urbatch), so she felt the name "Just Johanna" was no longer a good description of the stamp line. The name "Odd Bird Planet" was born! Stop in and meet Kerry. She'll be here all day Thursday with additional FREE make and take projects and prizes (more details to follow). Plus, 5 stamps were used in the creation of this card (can you find them all?) If you purchase all 5 stamps, you'll receive a 25% discount on the set!

Breeze on in for the Make and Take

I returned today from a trip to Richmond. It wasn't exactly a vacation-kind of trip, so I was delighted to see this card. I can almost feel the ocean breezes blowing on my face.

This card features last month's Stamp of the Month from Great Impressions. (We just received this month's, by the way. It's a cute "pet background" stamp, and it's 50% while supplies last). You'll also get a chance to play with the canvas stickers from Paper House Productions!

If you need a little mini-vacation, stop on by any time on Thursday, July 17 and let this card "take you away"!

It's All Downhill From Here!

Wheeeeeee! We've had so much fun this week celebrating the new releases from A Muse. We've still got a bit of room in the two classes on Saturday, and we also have our last FREE Make and Take of the week featuring the new A Muse stamps. Stop in any time between 10 - 5 on July 12 and "slide" a little stamping into your weekend!
This year, A Muse didn't introduce new Halloween and Thanksgiving stamps as part of the a*muse*a*palooza festivities. They felt there was too much "down time" between the huge release in July and their Valentine's release in December. So, in a couple of weeks or so there will be a new batch of stamps featuring Halloween and Thanksgiving designs. Stay tuned!
There's still time to get in on the drawing for the adorable A Muse tote bag full of goodies. Simply purchase 4 stamps from the A Muse line and receive an entry into the drawing. We'll select the winner at 4 PM on Saturday, and you don't have to be present to win!

a*muse*a*palooza make-and-take

We've been talking about it forever and now it's finally here! Join us for fun all this week as we unveil 36 new wood-mounted stamps and 2 new clear stamp sets, plus 6 new notecard designs and 8 1/2 x 11" papers from A Muse! For every 4 A Muse stamps you purchase this week, you'll receive an entry into a drawing for an A Muse tote bag stuffed full of goodies! We'll have a FREE make-and-take all day on Thursday, July 10, featuring this stunning card that makes use of some of the new stamp designs. I'll post a photo later in the week of the FREE make-and-take card for Saturday. Plus, check out the web site for photos of all 5 of Melinda's classes for a sneak peek at the other new stamps. By George, I do believe they've done it again!

Make and Take - July 3

We're putting a little sparkle and shine into the 4th of July eve. This stamp set by Lizzie Anne is so versatile! Marilynn spiced up an elegant monochromatic look by adding just a touch of glitter. Come see this card in person to get the full effect - then make one of your own to keep or share with a friend!

Guest Blogger

Hello. Guest blogger Laura here. I have been bugging Angela to let me occasionally add something to the store blog. She may have been out of her mind at the time, but she agreed.

I have been gathering pictures of cards made by the staff to share with Angela's blog readers. I may be biased, but I think they are a particularly talented bunch. Plus, everyone has such different stamping styles that I thought it would be fun to provide different sources of inspiration.

The first picture I am posting is by the wonderful Paula. She may have triplets, but she is one of the most prolific card makers I know. How does she find the time?

For this card, Paula used some of the fun bee stamps by Stampendous. Just how cute is this?! I noticed that I am posting her card in a larger size than other pictures on this blog. What can I say, I'm a guest blogger gone wild. If you click on the picture, you can get an even bigger view of the card details. I wanted to make sure I posted Paula's card in time for the fourth, but the images would work well for summer or patriotic cards.

The store will be closed on the 4th, but I hope everyone has a fantastic holiday and can find plenty of time to stamp!
