A Day of Crafty Fun! Saturday, September 29

Stamping and Shopping with Steven
Saturday, September 29

We hope you plan to join us as artist Steven Zeigler leads a series of 3 workshops at the Nokesville Church of the Brethren.  Take one as your schedule allows, or make a day of it!  Following each workshop, there will be a "Pop-Up" Store where you can shop for the merchandise used in each class. You won't want to miss it!  Class fees include cost of supplies, and all other proceeds from these workshops benefit the Major Maintenance campaign of the church.

Welcome (Back) to Watercoloring!
Class Fee*:  $45.00
9:30 AM to 12:00 PM

Join Steven as we learn (or revisit) watercoloring the Art Impressions way!  Art Impressions has designed a fun and easy way to watercolor using stamps and markers to produce a finished watercolor project that will amaze your friends and family!  This class is great for first-timers, as well as others who may have taken an Art Impressions' Watercolor class before (either at the store or at a convention) and need a refresher!  In this class, we will start off with basic watercoloring techniques and then move on to complete four projects that you can turn into cards, pictures, scrapbook layouts, or other projects later on!

This is a technique class, and we will go at a steady pace to ensure we finish the projects but also ensure that questions are answered, and we master the basics.  Supplies to Bring:  No supplies necessary for this class!  (Please note:  Class kits are provided directly by Art Impressions.  Pictures represent a sample of what you will make in class, but class projects may be different depending on the class kit offerings by Art Impressions at the time of the class.)

"Art Is Love" Mixed Media Canvas
Class Fee*:  $35.00
1:00 PM to 2:00 PM

Have you ever wanted to learn about mixed media but didn't know where to start?  Or maybe you're a mixed media fanatic and you're looking for new techniques, products to try, or just want to complete a fun canvas!  Join Steven as we delve into the world of mixed media using products by Art Anthology to create an "Art is Love" canvas.  You'll get an opportunity to play with some of Art Anthology's latest products, including its new dimensional medium line "Shine," as well as Velvets, Rust Effects, Coloration Sprays, Mud, and stencils!  No mixed media experience necessary, just an open mind to have fun, experiment, and walk away with a great finished 8" x 10" canvas!  Supplies to Bring:  Black Sharpie marker, baby wipes (or equivalent) and apron (or wear old clothes).  Heat gun and disposable gloves are recommended, but not required.

Heartfelt Creations "Flowers and Fun" Class
Class Fee*:  $35.00
3:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Heartfelt Creations has brought us some truly amazing projects featuring 3-D flowers!  Now, they have made it even easier with their 3-D shaping molds!  Come join Steven as he talks about the entire Heartfelt Creations line, including product collections and other products, while we make three beautiful cards featuring 3-D flowers using Heartfelt Creations' new 3-D shaping molds.  Using these molds, you'll be a "flower shaping" expert in no time and can begin to add these amazing effects to your cards, scrapbook layouts, or other projects that are sure to wow family and friends! Supplies to Bring:  Dry adhesive, such as a tape runner; wet adhesive, such as Art Glitter Dries Clear glue or Tombow Glue; 3-D pop dots.

*Your Class Fee includes the cost of supplies and an instructor fee.  For this "Day of Crafty Fun", Steven is donating his entire instructor fee to Nokesville Church of the Brethren.  Thank you for registering and supporting Nokesville Church of the Brethren!

About Steven
Steven began his journey as a papercrafter by learning, using, and falling in love with Copic markers (back before they were popular with papercrafters!)  Around 2011, as more and more papercrafters began using Copic markers, Steven was introduced to the world of papercrafting, including stamping, cardmaking, scrapbooking, and mixed media.  Now an avid papercrafter, Steven enjoys teaching others his passion through classroom instruction, e-learning, and on-site learning at scrapbooking conventions and expos.  In his free-time, Steven enjoys cardmaking and scrapbooking with friends, visiting papercrafting stores and scrapbooking conventions, and collecting paper (after all, isn't that all of our hobbies?)!

Beginning Bookbinding Workshop

We are so excited that we still can enjoy being a part of the community we've enjoyed for 15 years now.  We have two opportunities this month to "get your crafty on," and we hope you'll make time for yourself to try something new!

If you never tried bookbinding before, don't miss this opportunity to join Angela in historic Brentsville for this beginner's class.  You'll be sitting in a one-room school house that was built in 1929 on the foundation of the former Prince William County Clerk's office that was destroyed during the Civil War.  Don't worry - it has air conditioning!!!!!

Enjoy this brush with history while you practice an ancient art form.  Only a few spaces are left.

Then, see the post below for a day of workshops taking place at Nokesville Church of the Brethren on September 29.  We truly hope to see you there!

Less than two weeks away!!!

The big event is almost here!!!  We hope you are planning to join us on Saturday, June 9 between 9 am - 3 pm for the most incredible crafting yard sale ever!  Remember, this event is at Nokesville Church of the Brethren, 13002 Fitzwater Drive, Nokesville, VA.  It is right off 28 - easy to find!

We know how much you've missed shopping, free make-and-takes and Laura's classes, and so we have all three - the trifecta!

Make-and-Take

This is the stunning FREE make-and-take project, sponsored by Denise Stork, the owner of The Project Bin stamps (visit her website to see all her amazing products!)  The make-and-take will begin at 9 and will be available all day (while supplies last).  In addition, Denise will have a trunk show of her stamps and dies - and a yard sale special!  Purchase one of her sets and receive the second at 50% off!

Shopping
In addition to our own tables and the Project Bin station, we have 26 other vendors!  I truly believe we will have more to choose from than we did at the shop - and that's saying something!  I have been working since April to sort all the fabulous donations people have provided - many of the things are brand new!

We have stamps and dies from all your favorite companies:  Hero Arts, Memory Box, Impression Obsession, Alte New, Concord & 9th, Penny Black and more!

I will have a table full of tools and another for storage items!  There are Big Shot and Cuttlebug machines, Cricuts, Rollabind and Cinch bookmaking tools, punches galore and lots of different paper trimmer options!  (4 rooms in my house are completely full of items!)  And, don't get me started on all the card stock and 12x12 designer paper we have!!!

And, sometimes it's fun to be surprised!  So, we have tremendous grab bags!  Each one contains between $50-65 worth of merchandise for only $5.00!  And, they are all marked with a theme:  Christmas, Fall, Floral, French/Paris, Summer and so on.

Classes

Laura is offering her ever-popular 10 in 10 class featuring all the latest designs from Memory Box and Impression Obsession.  The first class is from 9:30 - 11:30 am and then she will offer it again from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.  We've had a couple cancellations, so there are just a very few spots available in each of the classes.  Click the links for more info, or simply contact her at stampjournal@gmail.com to reserve your spot.

More Details

1.  We (and the other vendors) are not able to accept credit cards, so please bring cash and/or checks for your purchases.

2.  You may also want to bring your own bags.  We have some at our tables, but not all vendors may have them, so plan ahead.

3.  There is SO MUCH to see that you may need the entire day!  Therefore, we do have concessions on site - and all of the money from your concession purchases goes towards the Major Maintenance campaign for the church.

4.  Community Outreach - As you know, we have always had outreach as a part of our Open Houses, so we wanted to make that available to you as well.  We will be collecting for our Blessings Box program, which you can visit while you're here.  We are in desperate need of Laundry Detergent, Dishwashing Soap (and the Dollar Store brands are great, so you can get a lot of bang for your buck (literally) if you shop there) and toothbrushes.

If you think of any other questions, please don't hesitate to let me know at angela@ahappystamper.com.

We are really looking forward to connecting with you all again!  See you there!
