September is Our Last Month

The End of an Era
Greetings friends,

Retail is hard.

Owning a small business is even harder. With online sales now the norm, a brick and mortar store has overhead costs that just aren't where we need them to be in order to meet our financial obligations.

So, after 14 years, Angela's Happy Stamper is closing its doors.

We've never really thought of ourselves as simply a retail store. We've honestly felt more like a family, and have truly appreciated and embraced being part of your lives, and so we know this won't be easy for many of you, just as it isn't easy for us.

We've enjoyed helping you design invitations and going to your weddings (and even officiating one)! We've cried and also celebrated with you during all the changes that life brings. And we've been truly honored to be "your happy place". And it's sad that those connections, which to us are more valuable than gold, cannot - as it turns out - pay the rent.

Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, September 5, we will begin the process of selling off our inventory. Effective immediately, All Sales are Final. No returns or exchanges will be accepted. Also, we can no longer accept our monthly coupon cards. Additionally, we will no longer be hosting our free Tuesday Learn at Lunch demos or Wednesday make-and-take cards. We will be CLOSED on Mondays.  At this time, all our other hours will remain the same.

We've been proud to take your donations and share them with the Herndon Senior  Center.  We are so grateful for your generosity, but ask that you now make your donations directly to the Senior Center:  873 Grace Street, Herndon.  Thank you so much for your support over the years!

All special orders need to be picked up by Sunday, September 10th. There will be no discounts on special orders. If you cannot pick up your order by the 10th, please call us with a credit card and we will ship to you.

Looking for a fixture or paper rack? We are selling these as well, and the prices are listed on each item.

We will continue to refill your Copic markers while our refill supplies last. Because this, like a class registration fee, is a service, we will not be offering any discounts on it. Please be mindful that we expect a big response to the refill service, so we may not be able to fill your pens on the spot. Your patience is extremely appreciated.

We will be slowly selling off our card samples. You may use them for inspiration, or glue them onto another card base and share them! Please don't pull them off the displays. We have baskets of cards that are available. You can choose 6 cards for $5.00 (no further discounts apply).

If you've read this far, you're likely asking yourself, "Are they going to offer a discount on all that fabulous stuff?" All merchandise on the floor will be 20% off, and you will want to shop early for the very best selection. Please don't ask us if we will be offering deeper discounts. Understand that it is our biggest wish to NOT have to do that. We hope to be able to sell everything at a discount level that is fair to all of us. We do understand that this is how some store closings work and we do realize that at some point that may be necessary, but please know that these questions sting.

We appreciate your support over these last 14 years. It brought us much joy to share with you 3 years ago that we were moving and not closing our doors. We truly wish that was the news we were bringing to you today. We hope to see as many of you as possible over the next couple of weeks. It has been a great joy belonging to a wonderful crafting community with you.

Fondly, Angela and the Happy Stampers

This announcement makes me very sad, and I am so sorry that you are closing your store. I firmly believe in supporting small businesses, and I managed to visit your store about 4 times a year for shopping and for classes over the last 10 years or so. I always had a great time when I was there. Your staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the products and techniques for using them. I always came home with unique stuff I didn't originally plan to buy each time I was there. :-)

I hope you know that you and your business were important to me, and that you will be missed!

I'm so very sad to see another brick and mortar, small business close. To lose Angela's is especially disheartening, because of the people who have been there to offer advice, laughter, classes, friendship, inspiration, support. Angela's epitomizes everything it takes to make a business a place to gather and call a second 'home.' Thank you for the smiles, for remembering to set aside things I mentioned I was looking for in passing, for such open, generous hearts. ❤️🙏🏻

I am saddened by this news. I have appreciated Angela's Happy Stamper over these years as a place to be inspired and buy my paper crafting supplies. Your store and the community you created will be missed!
