The Week Ahead

Once again there is a lot going on at the Happy Stamper this week.  We just received new shipments from My Favorite Things, Ranger, Taylored Expressions, Great Impressions, and more!  We also have lots of events scheduled:

Monday, April 6

Spiritual Art Journal
Time: 9:00 - 10:00 AM
Fee: FREE (but you need to have taken the Spiritual Art Jouranl prep class

What is a spiritual art journal? It's a way to visually record thoughts and images that reflect your interaction with life on a spiritual level. This has been a surprisingly wonderful discovery for me that I have found to be very meaningful.

I've so enjoyed this process that I wanted to open it up for others to try as well. Each Monday morning, we will meet from 9-10 AM to do an hour of journaling in a guided session. There is no fee for this time - come to as many or as few as you are able. But you need to have attended the "prep workshop" in order to have the pages on which to journal. Students should bring: their journal pages and a favorite writing pen. 

Tuesday, April 14

 

Guided Meditation
Time: 9:00 - 10:00 AM
Fee: $5.00 (materials fee)

In this workshop, we'll spend an hour in guided meditation. Using the poetry and imagery of the Psalms, we'll spend time journaling, doodling and exploring breathing and relaxation techniques. You will leave feeling refreshed and centered as you start your day! Students should bring: Your favorite writing pens and your favorite translation of the Psalms, if you have one. 

 
Learn at Lunch Demos - FREE!!!
Tuesday is demo day at Happy Stamper! Each Tuesday, stop in an learn a new technique or refresh your memory! All demos run from 12:00 - 2:00 PM, and no reservations are required, so come for a few minutes or stay all afternoon! We call it a demo because Angela will show you all kinds of tips and techniques. But you'll leave with a project, too! This week's theme- Color Burst Watercolor Paint

Graphic 45 Home Sweet Home Index Scrapbook
Time: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM  or 5:00 PM- 9:00 PM

Join Donna to create this one of a kind take on scrapbooking! She'll be taking Graphic 45's brand new 14.25 x 6 x 1.75" Black Shadowbox Window Frame, along with their new metal claw feet fixtures, and ringed drawer knocker to create a unique, open top index box - which you will fill with all sorts of cards, tags, bags, notecards, ephemera - the list goes on! Textures range from burlap to canvas to chalkboard to - whatever other little goodies she tucks into the box! All of this will be tied together with G45's fabulous new Home Sweet Home collection. You'll create items designed from the complete 8x8 pad to be tucked in with the mix. A clever, fun, and uniquely interactive way to put photos together, you'll be sure to have a blast with this one! Join Angela for fun way of looking at words! She's taken the Spotlight Sentiments stamp set from My Favorite Things and incorporated it into three completely unique, yet simple to re-create, card designs. Sentiments aren't always a first choice as a design element but we're flipping the script and making the words the focus of these cards! Students should bring: your favorite adhesive.

Romance Novel Ch.2 Altered Teapot

Looking for a perfect Mother’s Day gift? A one-of-a-kind birthday present for a tea-loving friend? Look no further! Join Erica and create this beautiful, unique teapot. This Teapot Party Favor by Kaisercraft is part of the Beyond the Page Collection, and has been altered using the Romance Novel Ch.2 Collection by Marion Smith Designs and flowers by Manor House Creations, Petaloo and Prima Marketing. When assembled, the Teapot Party Favor measures approximately 9" x 6.5" x 4". Students should bring: 12" paper trimmer, ruler, scissors, adhesives (dry – tape runner, 1/8" double sided tape and 3D foam tape; wet – Beacon or Helmar 450 quick dry), stamp block and ink (dark grey, black or brown), bone folder, pen/pencil and chalk/distress ink (dark grey, black or brown [ex. Pumice Stone or Frayed Burlap]).

Cheers Through the Year

Do you love to color and like to practice your coloring techniques? This class is for you! Join Laura in creating 5 fun martini-themed cards that you can send throughout the year. You will make a Valentine, St Patrick's Day, 4th of July, Halloween and Birthday card that you can use or give as a gift set. Each card uses a different coloring technique, and students will have the chance to practice with Copic markers, Distress Markers, Prismacolor Pencils, Watercolor Pencils, and Peerless Watercolor Paints. Each student will leave with 5 completed cards with envelopes. Students should bring: scissors, double-sided adhesive, gluestick. 



 

Cover-a-Card Club
Time: 4:00 - 5:30 PM
Fee: $12.00

Join Impression Obsession design team member Laura each month in exploring the endless possibilities of using your Cover a Card background stamps. Each month has a different theme, and each class can be taken individually of the others. In each session, students will have the chance to make one completed card as well as two backgrounds that incorporate the monthly theme. For the month of April, students will have the chance to practice layering backgrounds to create their own "patterned" papers. Students should bring: scissors, double-sided adhesive, gluestick.
