Copic

As you may know, there is a Copic shortage going on right now.  We have had a huge order out since the beginning of the year.  Today we received 24 colors of Sketch markers from our entire order.  It isn't ideal, but it is a start!  If you have been looking for colors, you might want to see what colors arrived. On the positive side, we did receive their new Gasenfude Brush pen.  I would strongly suggest you pick one up if you are at all interested in them.  They have been extremely hard to get, and I don't know when we can get them back in stock.  Here is some information about these pens from Copic:

Give yourself a full range of line widths with Gasenfude (gas-en-fu-day), Copic's NEW high-quality, genuine nylon brush pen. The long, flexible bristle nib allows for creating a dry-brush effect while the super fine point allows for detailed work. Fill in large areas quickly but still move with precision without having to switch to a different pen. These features make this the ideal pen for hand lettering, calligraphy, comic art, doodling, or traditional brush art application.

Features

  • Archival
  • 9 mm long bristles
  • 3.1 mm diameter at brush base
  • Water based, black pigment ink
  • Sturdy, genuine nylon bristles
  • Superfine point for detail work
  • Long, flexible bristles for dry-brush effects
  • Copic compatible ink (will not bleed with Copic markers)

More New Items

We are so excited to be carrying a new company called The Project Bin.  The Project Bin is the brain child of Denise Storck, who is one of our customers/teachers.  We always say "shop local."  Well, now you can REALLY shop local and support one of our new local businesswomen.   Here is the sample board she made us.  Isn't it cute?  I love the chicken wire in the frame.

Here is a close up of some of the samples and sayings:

Next, we have new sayings from Funny Bones.  Their sentiments range from inspirational to amusing:

How about the plush floral dies from Memory Box?  They can be used with felt....

.....or paper:

Poppystamps has several designs of dies that look like three windows.  This one uses the stems and dogwoods dies:

Taylored Expressions

Greetings friends!  Today I wanted to share some of the new goodies from Taylored Expressions.  In addition to the new items, we also restocked some favorite patterns of 6"x 6" papers with summer and patriotic themes as well as packs of their wonderful 100% wool felt.

First, the new set of Grumplings is designed for crafters.  What fun!

How about the fireworks embossing folder?

Bold sentiments are also a good, practical thing to have for cardmaking:

Angela's Graduation

Hi guys, Laura here.  As many of you know, Angela has worked so hard over the last 5 years to earn her Master's of Divinity.  She is going to be graduating this Saturday, and the staff couldn't be more proud of her!  Angela sent me a link to the live video of her graduation.  I will be broadcasting her graduation at the store as it happens on Saturday, May 7th at 10am.  I thought I would let everyone know in case you would like to stop by the store and see her graduate.  I believe she said there were 10-12 graduates total, so I can't imagine the ceremony will be that long!

Free Wednesday Make and Take

Many cardmakers would consider their stash of stamps incomplete without the Bird Crazy set by Tim Holtz. The birds in this set are imposing not only in size but also in their expressiveness. The arresting stature of the bird on today’s card makes coloring superfluous. The bird is paired with a happy sentiment—“create joy”—which, in turn, is animated with musical notes and dots of color. Join us tomorrow, Wed. May 4th anytime between 10am-8:30pm to make yours!
