Words front and center

We just received a huge shipment of Verses Rubber Stamps.  We love their sentiments, but also the beautiful way the words are presented - in layout and font.  You can make quick cards that look elegant and lovely!

This is Thursday's FREE make-and-take card.  I love how Marilynn used the Dreamweaver fern die in an unusual color as more of a corner ornament instead of a traditional leafy way.  Versatility is awesome!

Stop in Thursday between 10 - 8 to make one for yourself!

Bo Bunny Glitter Paste!

The sun is shining brightly today, and it has me in the mood to sparkle!!!!

This new Glitter Paste from Bo Bunny is just the thing to add "controlled" shimmer to your projects.  Apply it over stencils with a palette knife, or use a paint brush to add glitz to your die cuts.  It's wonderfully versatile!

Join Angela on Tuesday between 12 & 2 and give it a try.  All our Learn at Lunch demos are free and you don't need a reservation.  See you then!

India Ink and Markers

We love the Big Brush Markers from Faber-Castell.  They are filled with vibrant India Ink and are wonderfully easy to work with.  For this week's Free make-and-take card, we stamped our sentiment with black India Ink.  It's a nice, crisp, deep black that doesn't smear when you color over the top of it with more India Ink.  That's right - the Big Brush Markers contain fade-resistant india ink pigment inside.  We then created interest on the card by embossing a piece of red and placing it on top of a red card base (tone-on-tone doesn't distract from the sentiment, and you can really see the embossed panel because we popped it!)  Stop by Thursday between 10 & 8 to make one of these for yourself.  While you're here, check out the other Verses sentiments as well as HILARIOUS stamps from Riley & Co.  We guarantee you will laugh.  Seriously!

Add a little WOW!

Did you miss our Open House?  Or do you need a refresher?  Join us Thursday anytime between 10 - 8 and play with the Wow Pearl Embossing Powder.  This powder looks clear to the naked eye, but when used on dark card stock (in this case, black) the interference particles create a stunning metallic color!  We used the swirl background from one of the new stamp companies we featured at the Open House (Deep Red Rubber) as well as coordinating metallic paper to make an all-occasion card that shimmers and shines.  Come make one for yourself - FREE!

Metallic Magic

We have a pretty large selection of metallic papers that add sparkle and shimmer to your projects. Sometimes people ask us for suggestions on how to use them. Stamping on them can be a bit tricky (unless you use StazOn and great care), and layering with them can be boring (and expensive). But with all of the fabulous dies from Hero Arts, Memory Box, Sizzix and others, the metallic paper can become the focal point of your card! This Thursday's FREE make-and-take features glasses cut from metallic paper using our Accu-Cut machine. The stamp from Verses makes this the perfect wedding or congratulations card! Be sure when you're in the shop to ask us to show you a couple of card samples we created running the metallic paper through embossing folders. It's spectacular! You're sure to come away inspired to use metallic paper in a whole new way!

"Leaves" Nothing to Chance

Ok - even I admit that this post "heading" is 2/3 of a pun: "P" "U". (That joke is dedicated to my high school band director - he said it often). Anyway, back to the business at hand...This is the FREE make-and-take card for Thursday. Marilynn used one of the oval templates from Rubber Stamp Tapestry to create a "reverse mask" to frame the leaves. It's a beautiful effect - it almost looks like a rounded paper adhered to the card! We used an outline leaf stamp a couple of weeks ago - these solid leaves by Heartfelt Creations really display the full color of fall! And the sentiment by Verses Rubber Stamps tops it all off! Come make one for yourself!
