Fall Shimmer!

This card is impossible to fully appreciate until you hold it in person!  A couple of years ago, Tsukineko introduced the most brilliant metallic inkpad in silver and gold called Delicata.  It is a metallic ink that actually dries in a reasonable amount of time (unheard of!), and it almost has a raised appearance - like you lightly embossed it.  Simply stunning!

Well, hold on your your hats, because they have just released this same yummy formula in Bronze and Copper - and they are available in a convenient 4-pack mini-case.  Great for storage!

Stop in this Wednesday between 10 and 8 to really see how stunning this ink is (and to make a card for yourself, of course).  We'll see you there!

Contained Glitter - uncontained joy!

This wonderfully upbeat card has fabulous shimmer without all the mess.  This is multicolored embossing powder from Wow!, and once it's heat-set, the glitter is contained.  Love it!  Additionally, we used a Memory Box frame stencil and Hero Arts daubers to create a soft, almost watercolored-looking, border.  The colors and sentiment of this card just make me smile.

Stop in Thursday between 10 & 8 to make one for yourself.  While you're here, check out the adorable projects and demos we have lined up for Saturday's 11th Anniversary Open House.  It's going to be epic!

No Need to "Chalk it Up"

I love the look of "chalkboard" cards.  We received an inspiration board with lots of "Chalkboard" card samples and all the stamps to recreate them.  However, there are times when you want a different look, and these stamps are very versatile - you just might not consider it when you see the board.  Join us this Thursday between 10 am- 8pm and make this happy, summery card to send to a friend.  We've left school and the chalkboard behind and are in "dreamsicle" mode :-) This card features sparkly embossing powder from the new collection of colors from Wow!  The card is FREE, and you don't need to pre-register.  See you soon!

Ahhhh, summer!

I love how "happy" this card is!  The colors alone make me smile - and the sentiment - well, who wouldn't want to hear that????  Maybe it's that combination (the colors and the word "goodness") that makes me think of a double-scoop ice cream cone.  Ahhhhh, summer!

Join us Thursday between 10 & 8 to make this FREE card.  We're playing with coordinating stamps from Hero Arts and the absolutely fabulous embossing powder from WOW!  Can I just tell you, if you're going to name yourself "WOW!", you better be good!  And they do live up to their name (oh, the pressure!!!!  I think I need some ice cream.)

See you Thursday!

More Fun with Gelatos!

Gelatos are just so sweet we can't stop playing with them!!!  For this Thursday's free make-and-take card, we created a stunning, quick background with three colors of Gelatos, blended with a reservoir pen.  We then stamped a silhouette image from Wow (and speaking of Wow, we have completely restocked their fabulous embossing powders, including some new colors.  We also have new molds for spring - butterflies, flowers and more - for making your own embellishments and jewelry.)  But I digress - stop in this Thursday between 10 & 8 and make this all-occasion card to share with someone special!

So many possibilities!

Did you see these new Quatro stamps from Repeat Impressions?  They can be a little intimidating when you see them as a large stamp (although we have some great samples in the shop doing just that!)  So, we wanted to show you some of the possibilities of breaking the images up and making multiple cards.  Thursday's make-and-take features one of the blocks on the front (along with an accent of washi tape and twine).

Open the card and note that we used the sentiment and the individual coffee cup on the inside!  So clever and cute!!!!

After you make your own card, stop by the register and check out all of Marilynn's other samples using pieces from that same stamp.  Seriously, the possibilities are endless!!!!  Fun!!!!

Add a little WOW!

Did you miss our Open House?  Or do you need a refresher?  Join us Thursday anytime between 10 - 8 and play with the Wow Pearl Embossing Powder.  This powder looks clear to the naked eye, but when used on dark card stock (in this case, black) the interference particles create a stunning metallic color!  We used the swirl background from one of the new stamp companies we featured at the Open House (Deep Red Rubber) as well as coordinating metallic paper to make an all-occasion card that shimmers and shines.  Come make one for yourself - FREE!

No Interference!

Marilynn and I went to a trade show at the end of April, and one of the products we were SO excited about was Wow Embossing Powder, by a company in the UK!  Their powders have a wonderful range of colors, and they don't flake off easily (they are almost "flexible).  For Thursday's make-and-take, we are playing with the "Pearl" colors, which behave like "interference" colors - the darker the cardstock, the more you will see the opalescent colors!  This card uses a medium cardstock, so the green is just a hint of color.  But Marilynn has also prepared other samples for you to look at that show the intensity of the color on much darker cardstock.  So so cool!  Stop in, make this fabulous summer greeting to share with a friend, and see a new product that we are extremely excited about!!!
