Spiritual Art Journal
Date: Monday, March 30
Time: 9:00 - 10:00 AM
Fee: $10.00
What is a spiritual art journal? It's a way to visually record thoughts and images that reflect your interaction with life on a spiritual level. This has been a surprisingly wonderful discovery for me that I have found to be very meaningful.

I've so enjoyed this process that I wanted to open it up for others to try as well. For this workshop, we'll create several journal pages using different media (sprays, inks, stencils and more). The $10 class fee is for materials and instruction.

Then, each Monday morning during the month of April, we will meet from 9-10 AM to do an hour of journaling in a guided session. There is no fee for this time - come to as many or as few as you are able. But you need to have attended this first "prep workshop" in order to have the pages on which to journal. Students should bring: a small notebook or single sheets of paper that can withstand wet, mixed media items to be applied.

Tuesday, March 31st:
FREE Learn at Lunch Demo- 12:00 PM- 2:00 PM
No reservations are required, so come for a few minutes or stay all afternoon.  We call it a demo because Angela will show you all kinds of tips and techniques. But you'll leave with a project, too!

Time: 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM OR 6:00PM- 9:00PM

You'll be making a variety of 8 cards, all featuring Rosie's cute characters and whimsical sentiments, with a few fun techniques tossed in for added fun! NOTE: Cards will be stamped and assembled in class, but time may not permit for all cards to be colored during class. Please email Donna directly at dmkauffman1@gmail.com for the class file and any last minute supply updates. Students should bring: Scissors, 12" paper trimmer, scoreboard/bone folder (for folding cards), variety of colored pencils (regular and watercolor are fine), Stamp positioner (you will need this!), Memento Tuxedo Black ink (or your preferred black stamping ink), regular paper adhesive (tape runner, ATG, glue stick, etc), foam tape/dimensional tape, Colorbox Chestnut Roan (if you like to edge your cards.)

More from Neat and Tangled

A couple of days ago we shared some samples from Neat and Tangled.  We had so much to show you that it deserved a second post.

First, we have their awesome Box die:

Great.  But what does it look like when you use it?  Our very own talented Deb made a sample with the store featuring the box.  It is probably one of the most practical dies you can own since you could put anything in the box for just about any occasion:

I love that Deb stuffed it with suns.  I never would have thought about that.

Next, how about you cat lovers out there?  Check out their new Meowwwww set.  I love the cartoon style:

You can do so much with it:

Bo Bunny Videos and Products

You may have noticed that we have some new products at the store from Bo Bunny.  We have started carrying their Glitter Paste as well as some of their Stickable Stencils.

If you want to see how to use the glitter paste, here is a video from Bo Bunny:

You can also view the video directly on YouTube here.

Have you heard about their Stickable Stencils?  They are lightly sticky on the back so that when you use them, it is much harder for paints and pastes to seep under the edges.  Here is a video from Bo Bunny that shows you how to use the stencils as well as how to clean and take care of them:

You can also view the video directly on YouTube here.

Doodle Art

Join Angela this Tuesday between 12-2 for some doodle-fun!  These new stamps were created for doodle-art.  They are open images with pre-made small segments, perfect for meditative doodling!  Angela will show you the correct pens to use, different designs to get you going, and options for adding color.  So much fun!

As always, the Learn at Lunch demos are FREE and no reservation is required.  Come on over!

Ahhhh, color!

Let's get some color into these dreary days!!!!  Join us this Thursday, March 19 any time between 10 and 8 and add a splash of color and creativity to your day!

We'll create the background with Memento Luxe inks, and then add even more luscious color with Dylusion Sprays.  Instead of spraying them, we poured the color, undiluted, into reservoir pens to color in small, controlled areas.  Stunning!

We'll add some detail with the white Signo pen and watch the images really pop!  You won't want to miss this, so please join us!  Remember, the Thursday FREE-for-all really is FREE!

Get Amplified!

I have had a great time playing with COLOR!  Say it with me - "Spring has Sprung"!!!!

These are the brand new Neon Amplify puffy paints from Tsukineko.  They are a fluid paint in tubes with a fairly fine tip, so they are easy to control.  Place them anywhere you want a little color or dimension, then heat set them.  They become very opaque, and they really POP on dark paper.

Because they are very fluid, you can also use them with your stencils to create an entirely different look.  So much fun!

Join me Tuesday (and wear GREEN - it's St. Patrick's Day) between 12 & 2, and give it a try for yourself!

Paper-Palooza!

The old adage that when it rains it pours is so true! We ordered a lot of new paper collections, and they seem to have arrived at the same time.

First, we have the new Garden Journal collection from Bo Bunny. It is simply gorgeous! It is soft and feminine and features a lot of birds and flowers:

Next, how about Webster's Pages? It is definitely a favorite at the store, and we have the new "Dream in Color" collection. It is bright and vivid and will speak to your inner artist.

How about a new company to the store? Check out Blue Fern. We have four of their new collections!

It is an absolute avalanche of paper, and there is sure to be something for everyone!

Let's Talk About Ranger

Hello everyone! Ranger has been slowly releasing products from CHA, so we wanted to give you a few updates.

First, the new Color of the Month will be Mermaid Lagoon. Ranger hasn't shipped these products yet, but we expect them soon. If you want us to hold anything for you, please call the store or send us an email. The list of people who want the monthly color held for them has grown, so if you want to be added, just let us know!

Continuing with inks... Did you know Ranger has new dye ink pads? Here is what Ranger has to say about them:

Ranger’s Dye Ink Pads are water-based dye inks that are both fade resistant and waterproof when dry. The cushioned, raised felt pad is the best surface for inking up stamps of all kinds. The new Dye Ink Pads feature 12 vibrant, on-trend colors making them a great addition to any crafter’s color assortment. Palette coordinates with the Ranger Acrylic Paint Dabbers. Also available in 1/2 oz. re-inkers.

We ordered all 12, but a lot of them are on backorder. Here are the colors we do have. the rest should be shipping shortly:

Next, we received new stamps from Tim Holtz. Here are a couple of examples:

There are also new Layering Stencils. Here are a few that arrived:

We will keep you updated as more arrives.

Finally, this has nothing to do with new product, but it made me laugh. I don't think my non-crafty friends would think it was as funny:

Impression Obsession Trunk Show - Extended Learn at Lunch!

Two hours on Tuesday was not enough to contain our excitement over having Donna Silliman, the sales rep for Impression Obsession, join us with a car-load of goodies!!!!  So, we've expanded our traditional Learn at Lunch to run from 11 AM - 4 PM, Tuesday, March 10

Donna will be here with dozens and dozens of I.O.'s latest dies and Cover-a-Card stamps.  Bring your camera because there will be samples to inspire you as well!  And Angela will be demonstrating how to use the dies and coordinating stamps that cut multiple images at the same time (and are different from other dies in that they don't leave a border around the image either).  You'll also be making this stunning card featuring one of the Cover-a-Card backgrounds and a cool resist technique!

Lots going on, so don't miss it!  See you there!
