Be Mine

I have loved this card from the moment I saw it.  (Of course, my nickname is "HoneyBee", so....)

I love the simple elegance, and the way Gayle created the open space within the embossing folder.  Saves on layers!!! 

The space is created by using one of the shapes in the Easy Frames collection of embossing frames - the kit has 7 to choose from.  Versatile and oh so easy to use!

More with Die Cutting and Embossing

Unlike Tuesday's demo (where you die cut and embossed in one step), this card makes use of an embossing folder and a coordinating die to add dimension.  Plus, we embossed on white-core card stock which allows us to sand the paper to make the design really pop!

Layers of Snow

I am having a ball with the new Layering Dies from Leane Creatief.  This is an incredible company located in the Netherlands.  This set contains 5 different layering snowflakes that both cut and emboss.  It makes lining them up a breeze!  And, the back of the packaging gives you hints for all the many ways they can be layered, so you can get wacky-creative, or you can "follow instructions".  :-)

This card has a lot going on - it looks very time consuming.  But it's super quick and will get you lots of compliments when you share with your friends!  Stop in Tuesday between 12 & 2 and find out just how easy these dies are to us. 

Fun with Embossing Folders!

Embossing folders are a wonderful way to add texture to your projects!  But you can do so much more!  You can create stunning backgrounds, you can add interest to just a portion of the card, you can add ink over the raised surface to add "pop" and you can emboss a die cut to add texture.  Plus, you can create smooth frames within your embossed sheet to leave a space for a sentiment.  This is a wonderful way to "mass produce" cards without lots of layers!
