New Items

It has been rainy this week which makes for some really great crafting days.  Do you need new supplies?  Here are just some of the new goodies that have arrived:

Avery Elle:

Taylored Expressions:

New holiday papers from Photo Play.  The first one has a retro feel:

The second one has more religious inspiration.  We get lots of people who tell us they make cards for their churches at Christmas.  This paper will really work well for those projects!

New From Sizzix

We are really excited about the new products from Sizzix.  There is a new caddy that attaches to your Big Shot as an easy way to store extra plates and washi tape, gorgeous decorative patterned papers that fit perfectly in your machine, faux leather for die cutting or embossing, a new embossing plate with the metal plate built in for detailed die cutting, cute "sandwich" directions for die cutting and embossing (I can never remember the plate order without looking), and a great new pad that can be used for stamping on one side and piercing on the other.  Whew!  There is so much to see!

Layered and Framed - oh my!

At first glance, it looks like 3 different dies were layered to achieve this look.  However, this is done with a single die.  Join Angela Tuesday between 12 & 2 to learn how to cut a frame with this die (keeping the word straight - there is a trick to that!) and then how to make layers.  We will also be working with the new Paper Cut Glitter Paper (don't worry - absolutely no glitter escapes from this paper - you will love the mess-free shimmer).  As always, demos are completely free and no reservation is required!  See you there!

The second collection is Wonderfully Wicked and is perfect for making "spooktacular" Halloween cards:

For each collection, we have the 12" x 12" individual sheets as well as 6" x 6" paper packs.

Sale Items and Christmas Section

We are working hard at getting the store prepared for the big Open House.  Part of that preparation means making room for the new stamp company as well as getting the supplies for the demos and make and takes.  Therefore, we are moving more product to the 50% off sale section.  There are really great items there from companies such as My Favorite Things, Reverse Confetti, Taylored Expressions, Impression Obsession, Hero Arts, Paper Smooches, Memory Box and more!  We also moved a ton of paper to the 40 cent table.  For the best selection, be sure to stop by soon.  It won't last long!

Christmas Section: Many companies have released items for Christmas and we realized we had them all over the store in various places.  In order to help you find what you are looking for, we have created a new Christmas section that includes stamps, dies, embellishments and paper.  Stop by to check it out and plan your holiday cards!

We are in NorthernVirginia Magazine!

Greetings everyone.  We were thrilled to be mentioned in the September NorthernVirginia magazine issue!  There was an article about crafting and locally owned craft stores in the area, which made us very, very happy!  Here is a link to the online article if you are interested:

http://www.northernvirginiamag.com/home-and-design/home-design-features/2016/09/19/caught-the-crafting-bug-then-no-needling-required/

We have worked so hard at creating a local crafting community of our own as well as finding ways to give back to our community.  Therefore, we really appreciate their support of local crafting stores/classes!

It's All About the Journey

I definitely have back to school on my mind - oh, not for me, mind you.  I graduated in May :-)  But my oldest has left for college, so I only have one now getting on the bus.

This card is a bittersweet reminder for me, but it's a fabulous reminder to all of us to enjoy the journey - even if we get stuck behind these lumbering buses :-)

Stop in Wednesday anytime between 10 & 8:30 and "enjoy".  The make-and-take is always FREE - one per customer.  See you there!

Thanks!

For about a minute there, it felt like fall. Join Kathy today and learn the ins and outs of working with the interlocking dies from Concord and 9th. She volunteered to lead the FREE demo today between 12 & 2 so that Angela could socialize and enjoy her birthday with you all. Stop in, make a card, and celebrate with Angela!
