Hi folks, just a reminder to remember to shop local when buying for Christmas.  Product, classes, and gift cards make your loved one happy and keep us in business-which makes us all happy!

And here is a great idea for a gift- The new Gelli plate sets!  These are sets of three different shapes so small you can fit them on an acrylic block to make designs on cards, journal pages, or even wrapping paper. There are two different sets to choose from.  Get one for your loved one and then get one for you!  More happiness all around!

Brand New Tool!

We found a great new tool at a convention recently and wanted to share it with you!  This ergonomic swivel cutting tool makes free-style cutting super easy!  The blade works perfectly on paper and even vinyl cling, but won't cut fingers or plastic rulers and stencils (unlike traditional x-acto knives).

In addition to this wonderful tool, play with the new Flying High stamp and die set from Memory Box.

As always, the Learn at Lunch demo is on Tuesday from 12-2 and is FREE!  See you there!

Prills!

You know how certain products become popular all of a sudden?  Right now the buzz is all about Prills by USArtQuest.  They are similar to microbeads, but each jar contains a variety of sizes to give a variegated effect.

Want to see the Prills in action?  Here is a video by Jennifer McGuire:

You can also view the video directly on YouTube here- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpKYzzEBoVY

Need some ideas for how to use Prills on your card?  How about pairing them with stamps from My Favorite things?

You can use Scor Tape and add Prills to create a beaded border.  You can also add Prills to the centers of flowers for dimension:

They are also perfect for shaker cards:

Look at all the yummy color combinations of Prills that are available:

We have a large selection of Prills at the store, so be sure to pick up some the next time you visit!

They are a great source of holiday inspiration, and we would be happy to order anything you want if we don't already have it in stock.

Here is a direct link to the first look book- http://www.memoryboxco.com/2015SeptemberLookBook.asp It uses a lot of the new Winter 2015 products.

The second look book is more floral/butterfly themed and can be seen here- http://www.memoryboxco.com/2015JulyLookBook.asp

We have some new Ranger/Tim Holtz products at the store that we are really excited about and know you are going to love.  Of course, one of the best ways to tell you about them is to have Tim Holtz show you himself.

Squirrel away some cards!

This card is adorable - and also quick and easy. Stop in Wednesday any time between 10 & 8 to create this scene featuring a new fall frame stamp from Impression Obsession and some of our "old favorites" from Rubbermoon and Pink Ink. Spend just a few minutes coloring (I'd call it a mini vacation) and you are ready to share some greetings with a friend!

Get Amplified!

It's a little hard to tell in this photo, but Neon Amplify adds more than just dimension and vibrant color!  You control how much dimension by how much you apply.  And, for Tuesday's Learn at Lunch, we'll be applying a very thin coat with a palette knife and a stencil.  When heated, the thin coat puffs to an almost fuzzy appearance - reminiscent of flocking.  It's stunning, not the least bit messy (like flocking) and dries instantly because it is heat-set.  You are going to love it!

Stop in Tuesday between 12 & 2 and we'll also play with the Hero Arts Ombre ink pads and layering stencils!  It's completely free and no reservations are required.  See you there!

MFT Release

Sit back and relax. Put your feet up and enjoy a cup of tea. We have a ton of samples to show you with the new My Favorite Things release. Of course, we have all the supplies to recreate these cards at the store. The store will be open regular hours on Monday, so if you have a three-day weekend, you might need new goodies to play with.

Let's start with a quick and easy card you could crank out for the holidays:

How about a cozy fireplace?

Did someone say elves?

Do you give out coffee gift cards as gifts? How about a coffee card to go with it?

Winter snowflakes.....

Love this lamp post. So many possibilities!

Ahhhh....mountains

More Christmas ideas....

Now, to change the topic away from MFT..... I wanted to show you a couple of cards that I designed recently for Impression Obsession that use supplies at the store that might interest you.

The first card is a holiday card that uses the new poinsettia die from Impression Obsession as well as felt from Taylored Expressions. It is important to use a good quality felt if you want to cut intricate dies. The Taylored Expressions felt is 100% wool and doesn't fray. The poinsettia ornament is detachable from the card so it also works as a mini gift.

I also made a Halloween card with an alcohol ink background. I can't tell you how long it has been since I used alcohol inks! Sometimes it is good to revisit the classics.
