Glazed project - no calories!

Have you tried the new products from Tattered Angels?  We have long loved their Glimmer Mists.  Earlier this month, we played with their Chalkboard Spray, and now we're happy to share tips and techniques for working with another of their innovative products - Glimmer Glaze!  This glaze (which comes in a variety of colors) works great on all kinds of surfaces - Jenn has painted a button, an acetate tag and the tips of this flower.  All with one very versatile product!  It's even water-soluble, so it blends beautifully with Glimmer Mist!  Stop in Tuesday between 12 & 2 and give it a try.

So pretty!

This Thursday's FREE card project features the Jumbo Iris stamp from Stampendous.  It's part of a cling set that also includes the design element that is repeated down the left-hand side.  I love everything about this card - the design, the images, the sentiment, the colors - everything!  The iris was colored with Copic markers and then enhanced with a spotlighting technique using the new Frantage Aged Embossing Enamels.  Not only does this technique add wonderful texture to the card, but it also makes the flower look real!  You know you will kick yourself if you miss this project, so drop what you're doing and get in here!  The supplies and instructions are available Thursday from 10 - 8.

Holy Hologram, Batman!

For this Tuesday's Technique Tag, Jenn is playing with something completely new - Chrystal Gel from Viva Decor.  We're specifically using the Hologram color, because it is truly spectacular!  This gel is transparent but produces incredible light breaking, three-dimensional effects.  It is water resistant and can be used on virtually any surface.  In fact, it looks even more amazing on other transparent surfaces like acetate or glass!  Wow, wow, wow!  Stop in Tuesday between 12 and 2 and give it a try for yourself.

New Impression Obsession Dies

We received the new Impression Obsession dies that coordinate with their circle and square shaker pouches. People have been asking how they work, so i thought a blog post would be a good idea. I also included a picture of the circle die so that you could see what it looks like.

As you can see from the picture above, the die is one piece and will cut a frame for both the large and small sized pouches. When you cut out a frame a shaker pouch, it essentially lets you put the shaker anywhere you want on a card or scrapbook page. Here is a sample of a card with a shaker frame:

As you can see, the frame hides the plastic edge that attaches to the card. Come in and check them out. I think you will find that the dies really make your shaker pouches more versatile to use!

Make any day a Sunny Day!

I love this all-occasion card - it just seems to happy to me!  Marilynn used one of the new clear sets from The Cat's Pajamas, then added texture to the sunflower with Black Fragments from Stampendous.  If you've never played with these before - don't miss this chance.  It's a totally different look from Flower Soft, but just as easy to apply.  Love it!  Stop in any time between 10 & 8 on Thursday and make this card for yourself!

Coloring on Canvas

Have you had the chance to work with the Magenta colored canvas?  It's easy to stamp, color and cut, and adds such an interesting texture to your projects.  Prismacolor pencils are the perfect coloring medium, because they are opaque and don't bleed!  Stop in this Tuesday between 12 & 2 and try it for yourself.  If you've shied away from canvas in the past, let Jenn show you how easy and versatile this product actually is!

They are Here!

Oh yes! The new Limited Edition Spring Distress Inks arrived. The new colors are Peacock Feathers, Squeezed Lemonade, and Shaded Lilac. Yummy!

The nicest thing about the Limited Edition sets is that reinkers are now available:

Our first batch of all the limited edition reinker colors flew out the door, but we have already reordered more. If you have the fall, winter, or spring sets and need some of the reinker colors, please let us know. We would be happy to hold them for you. We still have plenty of the Spring ink pads though to help you get started.

Happy Mother's Day!

Mother's Day is May 13, so stop in Thursday for our FREE card make-and-take and get prepared!  We love these cards from the Paper Cut - it's fun to do something with an unusual shape every once in a while!  And, we love the dogwood stamp from Impression Obsession.  We colored the flowers with Prismacolor Pencils - they're so opaque that they really pop the image on the green card stock!
